We are seeking a full time, unclassified Procurement Assistant for the Agency Business Services Division in Oklahoma City. Agency Business Services is the primary service provider of back end financial functions of government entities in the State of Oklahoma and recognized for its efficiency, value and customer service. We offer a comprehensive Benefits Package , and a competitive annual salary up to $30,060, based on education and experience.

Position Summary

The Procurement Assistant primarily performs duties as requested by the Procurement Specialist related to the contracting and procurement of goods and services throughout the procurement cycle. This includes gathering and completing various forms and documents, market research, creating and or processing purchase requisitions and purchase orders, changes orders and providing backup support when the assigned Procurement Assistant is unavailable.

This is a customer service oriented position and requires a high level of communication with client agencies by email, phone, and client interactions as well working with the other ABS client teams.

This position requires a strong attention to detail.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Receives correspondence from client agencies either from physical mail, electronic delivery service, telephone, or in person.
  • Processes requests in the appropriate system or software based on client request under the direction of the Procurement Specialist.
  • Keys and types data accurately into the State’s financial software system as well as other standard computer programs.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field plus one (1) year of experience as an assistant or higher level; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preference may be given to candidates with:

  • Procurement exposure, knowledge or skills
  • Experience in the use of PeopleSoft Procurement/Finance software
  • Microsoft Office Applications: Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Typing speed of greater than 30 words per minute

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position must be able to sit at a computer work station for prolonged periods of time. Additionally, must be able to work in an office environment where bending and stooping is required.
