Assessment & Equalization Analyst I

BASIC PURPOSE
Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities involving the completion of property appraisals and projects related to the Equalization Study Program and Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal activities and other performance based audits which may be required. This includes research and analysis of real estate and property values, level of tax assessments and assisting and advising County Assessors and deputies as required.

LEVEL DESCRIPTORS
The Assessment and Equalization Analyst job family consists of three levels which are distinguished based on the level of complexity of job assignments, the level of expertise required to complete specific job assignments or projects, and the responsibility assigned for the supervision of others.

Level I:

This is the career level of this job family where employees are assigned responsibilities at the full performance level related to equalization studies, annual audit evaluations, computer assisted mass appraisal, real and personal property appraisals, data analysis, and may include centrally assessed property valuation, public utility valuation or cadastral mapping. Duties also include providing orientation, training and on-going assistance to county assessors and their deputies in all phases of computer assisted mass appraisal and cadastral mapping systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Level I:

Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, mathematics, statistics, finance or business administration and one year of experience in appraising or assessing real estate, financial auditing, computerized mapping, land records research, or as a real estate abtractor; or advanced accreditation for Oklahoma County Assessorsand Deputies as certified by Oklahoma State University Center for Local Government Technology and one year of experience in appraising or assessing real estate, financial auditing, computerized mapping, land records research, or as a real estate abstractor; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
