Patient Services Coordinator – General Services/M-F/6am-2:30pm

**This is a full-time Patient Services Coordinator with our General Services department with the hours of Monday – Friday 6am-2:30pm with rotating weekends and holidays**
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Retrieves information from computer systems and provides information to patients regarding their schedule and instructions
  • Demonstrates competency via direct observation and assessment for the following computer systems:
  • Cares
  • Clinic Station
  • Cerner
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Greets, provides information, and directions to customers.
  • Advises patients and family members of available services.
  • Handles and processes a complex and varied set of documents and situations.
  • Schedules patient visits, physician appointments, diagnostic tests, and treatments.
  • Communicates pertinent information regarding appointments and scheduling.
  • Interprets and coordinates physician orders.
  • Prepares and maintains appointment templates and/or patient records.
  • Updates relevant patient information in order to maintain an accurate patient record.
  • Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
Adheres to applicable policies, procedures, and protocols

  • Performs all phlebotomy procedures in accordance with the section’s procedure manual.
  • Accurately identifies patient and collects the correct specimens.
  • Maintains specimen integrity by collecting and transporting specimens in a timely manner.
  • Completes records (electronic and paper) and files as appropriate.
  • Assists co-workers as required.


Other duties as assigned

High school diploma or equivalent. Three years of relevant work experience. May substitute additional education for required experience on a one to one basis. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
