Oracle Developer for Retail

The retail channel is a key strategic focus area for the Estee Lauder Companies and the Estee Lauder GIS Department. We are recruiting top talent to fill a critical technical role to join our North American IT Retail team.

This role is essential to the success of our strategic direction as well as our day to day stability. Our landscape is complex with integration between multiple Retail Applications (POS (X-Store), CRM (Relate), Workforce Management (Reflexis), Core Merchandising (JDA PMM) and Traffic Counting (ShopperTrak). All of these retail applications are tightly integrated with other core systems (SAP, HR, EDI, Legacy Order to Cash) within ELC.

The bulk of the integration is using the publish-subscribe capabilities of WebMethods while larger file communications is managed by Informatica.

Because the consumer facing world is changing quickly along with the need to meet consumer and store demands, we need a technical team that can provide solutions quickly with flawless execution. For us to meet the expectations of our consumer and our brands, we need a strong technical resource who has very strong Oracle and Retail applications experience. Being able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly is also critical.

This technical lead will be a key member of the NA Retail team within GIS and will work closely with other technical and functional teams. Having the ability to communicate with both technical and functional teams is important. Being able to understand business requirements and translate those into technical documentation and solutions is paramount.

  • Responsible for delivering and supporting both in-store and back office solutions in support of our POS, consumer data management, workforce management and merchandise management solutions.

  • Follows the retail strategy and similar direction to identify, design and implement key solutions

  • Independently assessing issues/requests and providing optimal solutions in a timely manner

  • Accountable for providing stable and growth-oriented technology solutions, for both new projects and day to day bug fixes and requests

  • Ensures all solutions are complaint and compatible within the ELC landscape

  • Keeps pace with current retail technology trends; and provides information and advice on relevant emerging technology tools and platforms that may result in improvements to current processes

  • Understands and follows the Enterprise Architecture strategy and helps define the Retail roadmap in conjunction with Strategy & Architecture

  • Stay abreast of current trends/technologies in retail/consumer space and be aware of retail initiatives from other best in class retailers and technology companies globally

Qualifications

General

  • Experience working with retail applications and environments

  • Solid understanding of Retail technologies and the ability to research new technology solutions

  • Good written and verbal communications skills

  • Ability to think strategically and creatively, and communicate effectively in a fast-moving, rapidly growing environment

  • Strong team-player who has excellent collaboration and relationship skills who can communicate with both technical and functional teams

  • Able to demonstrate an innovative approach to improving timeliness, quality, and efficiency of systems development projects/portfolios

  • Ability to operate in a matrix model

  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines; ability to make decisions with limited information

  • Application / Technical

    • Must have the ability to write formal technical specifications in addition to both Oracle and Unix/Linux technical skills.
  • 3 Experience with JDA PMM Core Merchandising application

  • 5 years experience using Oracle (11g, 12c) developing (SQL, PL/SQL), maintaining, architecting, delivering and managing complex IT solutions

  • Strong Database & Unix/Linux Technical skills, capable of working as Developer/Architect

  • Experience with Unix/Linux Shell Scripting, Performance Tuning, SQL* Loader, Analytical functions.

  • Involved in all phases of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) from analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance with timely delivery against aggressive deadlines.
