The driver issuance specialist performs various duties related to the issuance of ‘valid with previous photo’ replacement and renewal drivers’ licenses, the issuance of disabled person identification cards, and disabled parking privileges. This work must be processed accurately and timely.

Duties & Responsibilities

Receive approved renewal or replacement application requests.

Process reissuances.

Receive fees via mail.

Update electronic driver records.

Issue licenses and ID cards.

Respond to inquiries from customers, law enforcement, court, agency personnel and others regarding licensing. Working Conditions

Occasional standing, walking, crouching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crawling, twisting, reaching, climbing on stairs or stepstools, pushing and pulling up to 30 lbs., lifting up to 30 lbs. to move documents, supplies, equipment and other items or to locate and retrieve files and reference materials.

Frequent contact with hostile or confused customers.

Qualifications, Required & Requested Skills

Minimum Qualifications

Completion of courses or training in Office Technology; OR

One year of general clerical experience which included typing, word processing, or other generation of documents; OR

An equivalent combination of training and experience. Preferred Attributes/Application Scoring Criteria
