In this role of a .NET Application Developer with Optum IRD, you will be expected to be a thought leader, passionate about solving problems. You will be delivering professional level software, tools, platforms and services, typically for a variety of innovation challenges and business stakeholders. We are passionate about a performance based culture, where you will be expected to understand our business not just programming software. You will translate complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences. Primary Responsibilities:
Perform all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, code development and testing

Design and implement product features in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders

Design reusable components, frameworks and libraries

Work very closely with architecture groups and drive solutions

Participate in an Agile / Scrum methodology to deliver high – quality software releases

Design and develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business

Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices and improving performance

Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as required

Mentor and guide other software engineers within the team

Collaborate with the business to understand / influence business requirements

Demonstrate understanding of cross – functional / cross – domain requirements and impact

Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies / products / trends related to new solutions

Ensure alignment of solutions with business and IT goals / objectives

Facilitate / lead / participate in identification of solution options and features

Create application deliverables that describe the solution using enterprise templates

Ensure alignment with enterprise technology standards (e.g. solution patterns, application frameworks, technology roadmaps, capital plans)

Identify gaps between established standards and proposed solutions, and follow the exception/waiver process as needed

Create and present product demonstrations for clients and stakeholders

Participate in code reviews and help ensure the use of development best practices

Understand and use modern CI technology and work with Cloud infrastructure like Windows Azure

Required Qualifications:
6+ years in the software engineering profession

4+ years of experience in C#, .NET framework 4.x, ASP.NET, web development, HTML, CSS

4+ years SQL Server experience with large-scale enterprise applications, including implementing complex SQL stored procedures, views

3+ years of experience in jQuery and JavaScript

3+ years of experience with MVC

Agile development experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with IIS, Angular, Node.js

Experience with DevOps / Continuous integration implementation

Excellent documentation skills utilizing frameworks like Swagger

Working knowledge of APIs

Experience in the health care industry
