The Middle Office Analyst I is primarily responsible for understanding and assisting in the implementation of the control framework that primarily mitigates risk and ensures the smooth integration between Front Office and Back Office systems and communications.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in performing four of the five steps required in processing the Mortgage related TBA business. These steps include the following duties: Entering TBA transactions into MBSD RTTM system and resolving inter-dealer comparison issues. Perform MBS pool allocations during 48 hour notification period for each TBA settlement, MBSD Clearing System netting, Trade pair-offs, ticketing for TBA settlements, MBS pool changes, and settlement issue resolution.

Assists in the daily reconciliation of the front office trading positions to the back office reports. This task includes identifying outages and notifying Traders or Managers responsible for the position.

Assists in monitoring all regulatory transaction reporting systems (MSRB and TRACE eligible trades) on a daily basis. This includes documenting all late or cancelled trades and notifying the appropriate entity or person when systems affect trade reporting.

Assist in Middle Office Manager application throughout the day and assists in resolving any issues with ticket entry, customer builds and fixed income security builds.

Enters new account DTC delivery instructions to InTrader, requests new CUSIP builds onto Pershing, adds variable rate information to all step-up security builds on InTrader. Updates factor/variable rate information on securities when available.

Assists Application Developers in designing applications for the firm. This includes defining business requirements, testing application and providing feedback to the developers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Basic knowledge of fixed income securities and delivery processes

Basic knowledge of accounting principles

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Excellent organization skills: ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a competent and professional manner while under time constraints

Excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent customer relations skills

Excellent PC skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel applications This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of an Associate’s degree or equivalent work related experience of 3 years.

Fixed income experience is preferred, but not required.
