Linux Systems Administrator

As a Linux System Administrator, you have a knack for digging deep to solve problems. You are comfortable digging into Linux internals to find that obscure bug in the interaction with a specific kerberos library, and also enjoy architecting and writing moderately-sized tools with a penchant for elegant, scalable, and maintainable solutions. You will be responsible for a farm of EDA servers used by a hardware design team and working closely with similar teams across the organization. You will benchmark and fine-tune applications in various environments and providing high performance computing resources, storage systems, web and file collaboration services, tools, licenses, databases, and workflow optimization. You will apply up-to-date administration techniques, follow, and in some cases, define, standards that govern the deployment and administration of Google’s server infrastructure systems.

*Responsibilities*

Systems installation, primarily CentOS 6-7

Systems configuration through automation (ansible, puppet, etc.)

Containers with Docker, etc.

Maintain network services; DNS, DHCP.

Systems monitoring with zabbix

Administration of Brocade switching environment.

Administration of squid proxy.

*Required Skills* NEEDS

Scripting in at least Python and Bourne (or derivative)

CentOS 6-7

Experience with one or more automation technologies (Ansible, Puppet, etc)

Virtualization (ESXi and/or Nutanix)

Network switch management (VLAN, vLAG, ACL, etc) ideally Brocade
