K – 12 Tutor

Vision Tutoring, LLC and the Vision Tutoring Educational Foundation, Inc. are seeking energetic, creative educators to conduct individual or small group tutorial sessions with students (K – 12) throughout metro-Atlanta. Tutors may select to work with individuals or groups of students whose location and schedule are convenient for them and will be assigned to the specific subject(s) and grade level(s) in which they are proficient. Session duration may vary from 1 to 2 hours with the possibility of back to back sessions. Only instructional time is billable. Tutors may indicate availability for any day Sunday through Saturday beginning at 8 am and concluding at 8:30 pm.

Applicants must:

*Have one of more of the following— 1) a current, valid Teaching Certificate (type: SRT, teaching/instructional), 2) a degree in Reading, English, Literacy, Math, Science, Social Science, Education, or similar field, or 3) at least three years of teaching or extensive tutoring experience

*Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or higher

*Be proficient in teaching the subject(s) and grade level(s) for which they apply

*Have at least three years of teaching/tutoring experience related to the subject(s) and grade level(s) for which they apply

*Have the ability to create engaging lessons for students based on the skills that must be taught- this position does not generally include homework assistance

*Be dependable, punctual, organized, and a positive role model

*Be proficient in the use of the computer, Internet, Office software (Word,Excel), and accessing/responding to emails

*Be able to consistently submit detailed paperwork by the designated deadline each month

*Have a passion for teaching youth and contributing to their success

*Have reliable transportation (personal or public)

*Be willing to submit to a criminal background check (applicants with felonies will not be hired; those with misdemeanors are subject to further review)

Qualified candidates should submit an updated resume as soon as possible. Be sure to include details regarding your Teaching Certificate (if one is available) along with specific experience relative to working with youth and teaching/tutoring. Note: Teaching certification, high school (math, E/LA, science and social studies) teaching/tutoring experience, and availability to work in Clayton and/or Gwinnett counties are each a plus

Compensation: $20/hr – $40/hr dependent upon contract specifics

This is a contract job.

NOTE: If you are an employee of any school system (i.e. instructional coaches, teachers, etc.), tutorial times cannot conflict with employee hours. Our tutors cannot be assigned to students at the school in which they are employed.
