Desired Skills

Red Hat Certified Engineer certification (version 5 and higher)

VMWare Certified Professional certification

Install, upgrade, maintain and troubleshoot Linux (RedHat, CentOS) and Solaris based servers

Install, maintain, upgrade and expand VMWare infrastructure

Experience with managing Subversion, Perforce and GIT and revision control tools

Troubleshoot NIS, DNS, SMTP, FTP, NFS, AUTOFS, Users, IPTables as needed

Setup and maintain monitoring software (preferably Nagios)

Strong scripting skills in PHP or Perl, and Shell scripting

Experience with Puppet & other automation tools

Support local and remote engineering design teams with UNIX related issues & escalations

Support multiple remote data centers with daily operations support and future planning

Working experience of Netapp and storage administration (NFS, CIFS, iSCSI)

Working experience with NetApp Data OnTap version 7.x / 8.x in 7mode and Cmode

Strong understanding of Netapp data protection technologies – snapshots, snapmirror, snap vault, snap restore and flex clone

Handle non-disruptive software upgrades, shelf and disk firmware upgrades in a high availability enterprise environment

Experience with DFM, Operations manager, Protection manager, On Command Unified manager, & ASUP

Participate in organizational initiatives and contribute in automation efforts

Require to support labs after hours / weekends on-call

May require occasional travel to remote/international sites

Qualifications


Bachelor degree in Computer Science / Electronics Engineering or equivalent

Minimum 5 years of experience as Unix System Administrator

UNIX/Linux administration experience

NetApp Storage administration experience

VMWare ESXi experience

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Able to work independently as well as a team member.

Able to learn and apply new knowledge quickly.

Customer Service Experience
