Industrial Engineer Intern Position Description

• Knowledgeable of engineered labor standards and Labor Management systems.
• Prioritizes and accomplish multiple tasks within established time frames and effectively accomplish assigned duties.
• Develops understanding processes by reviewing process flows, labor modeling, process standards and engineering specifications
• Determines how to process orders or deliver services with greatest efficiency
• Establishes management control systems for cost analysis and optimal budget planning
• Executes quality control processes to resolve problems in production cost-effectively
• Works with management, engineers, and customers to develop new standards for production
• Applies IE skills and methodologies to opportunities that reduce costs, improve efficiency, and quality without negatively impacting service levels.
• Direct studies in operations to maximize work flow and spatial utilization.
• Conduct a hands-on review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at facility level to ensure compliance with all processes.
• Identifies and implement initiatives which improve utilization of assets (facility, labor, equipment etc.)

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled as a sophomore or junior in a college or university IndustrialEngineering or related program; required
• Minimum of 3.0 GPA; preferred
• Ability to work 10-15 hours per week; required
• Experience with the development and maintenance of engineered labor standards and performance incentive programs; preferred
• Microsoft Office Suite; required
