Bi-lingual (English / Spanish) Human Resources Coordinator/Jr. Generalist

Must have HR Background & Experience

The individual will report to HR Manager & Director and help manage the entire day-to-day operations of the HR office, the administration of HR policies, procedures and programs while assisting in carrying out responsibilities in the following areas: departmental & organizational development, working with an HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, and recruitment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in administering various human resources plans and procedures of all company personnel; assisting in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; reviewing employee handbook for recent updates; updates policies and procedures manuals.
  • Assist in organizing department to maximize efficiency and functioning.
  • Excellent writing skills in English & in Spanish
  • Assist management with the development & drafting of job descriptions.
  • Assist with drafting of SOP’s, policies and procedures, warnings, PIP’s, etc.
  • Assist in training & coaching managers on performance coaching, conflict resolution, positive communication skills with employees to decrease & prevent conflict and complaints.
  • May be first contact for employee issues, participate in counseling sessions with managers & supervisors.
  • Assist in handling recommendations for suspensions, terminations of managers and employees: evaluate actions to be taken. Ensure employee counseling is non-discriminatory & consistent.
  • Assist in conducting investigations into Complaints.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with solid background in employee relations. Assist in & eventually learn to conduct internal investigations, documenting and resolution of all internal complaints and legal matters as it relates to employment discrimination matters. Consult with legal & executive team as needed.
  • Coordinate and conduct bi-weekly new hire orientation meetings.
  • Coordinate and conduct various management training.Strong presentation skills.
  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining integrity of I-9 verification process. Conduct Quarterly I-9 audits
  • Assist in Implementation & coordination of New HRIS program
  • Coordinate employee development /training sessions.
  • Responsible for the Administration of Leaves of Absences / FMLA/ Workers’ Compensation / Unemployment Reporting.
  • Participate in state unemployment hearings.
  • Coordinate and assist in recruitment efforts with hiring managers, review of resumes/employment applications matching skills to open positions and interviewing candidates, when necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment and wages.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s Degree, PHR or SPHR certification is a plus, but not required. Candidates will need to have a minimum of (5) years experience in HR, preferably within the food and beverage industry .

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.

Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written in English and Spanish are required.

SALARY COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE: 40-55K
