ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

Junior Achievement of the Upper Midwest (JAUM) supports JA operations throughout Minnesota, North Dakota, and western Wisconsin. JAUM reaches over 163,000 students each year. Through age-appropriate curricula, JA programs begin at the elementary school level, teaching children how they can impact the world around them as individuals, workers and consumers. JA programs continue through the middle grades and high school, focusing on the key content areas of entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy.

POSITION SUMMARY: To support the growth and participation of schools & volunteers in JAUM’s high school educational programs.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

– Champion JA’s flagship program JA Company Program.

  • Recruit high schools and teachers to participate in the JA Company Program
  • Recruit volunteers to serve as mentors for the JA Company Program
  • Support the customer service plan to ensure quality of programs through phone calls, classroom monitoring and evaluation
  • Monitor curriculum access to schools and program reporting requirements to ensure proper verification of the programs.
  • Manage records and information relating to school and volunteer activity

– Champion the JA Fellows program

– Work with Outreach Directors to fulfill recruitment, placement and training of volunteers in high school programs

– Develop and deliver presentations to businesses when needed

– Expand out of school time programming with development of summer outreach for high school youth

– Identify potential funding sources to support the metro area outreach

– Work with Marketing Director and Program Director to develop marketing strategies and sales strategies to effectively grow high school programs to achieve strategic goals

  • Oversee programs in schools and business sites as appropriate
  • Assist with logistics of Metro and JAUM high school competitions

– Work collaboratively with the JAUM Program Team to achieve strategic plan goals

– Work closely with development staff to promote and deliver special event

– Attend training offered by JAUM to continue striving for professional improvement

EXPERIENCE:

Required : Bachelor’s degree and at least one year business, sales, education or non-profit experience. Experience working with JA program partners and with ethnically diverse populations. Individual must have proven ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, good interpersonal communication skills and accuracy/detail orientation. Exceptional sales skills are a necessity. Proficient computer skills, preferably in a Microsoft environment.

Desired: Experience working with St. Paul/Minneapolis school system/community and St. Paul/Minneapolis business community. Project management and Raisers Edge database experience.
