Help Desk Technician

Temp-to-perm (6 months)

$25-$30 per hour

A nation-wide Home Builder has an immediate need for a Level 1/ Level 2 Help Desk Technician in Irvine. This position will be a 6 month contract position, going permanent thereafter.

Help Desk Specialists are responsible for interfacing directly with end users and IT staff to help resolve technical issues in a timely manner. Ideal candidates should have a general knowledge of many areas of IT and are considered by others to be a “people person”.

Major Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service to a diverse client base
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues using various remote desktop support tools
  • Provide phone, email and remote desktop support to end users.

Major Skills and Experiences Should Include:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience using remote desktop support tools
  • Experience troubleshooting the Windows O/S, both Desktop and Server
  • Ability to troubleshoot network connections and devices
  • Ability to setup laptops, tablets, phones, and printers in a wireless environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3 years of prior Help Desk or Customer Support related experience
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of computing hardware, OS and office productivity software
  • Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deliver detailed, professional documentation.

Other Helpful Skills:

  • Experience working with Active Directory, Domain and Group policies, DNS, & DHCP
  • Experience with RDS and/or Citrix environments
  • General understanding of TCP/IP protocols, subnets, and associated applications
