Equity Research The Equity Research department is responsible for researching macroeconomic and microeconomic conditions, along with company fundamentals. It also collects and analyses financial information to make investment recommendations on stocks in specific sectors. Research analysts build financial models to explore alternative scenarios, examine industries and communicate with companies and investors. Equity Research team members discuss their analysis and investment recommendations in research notes. We are seeking an Associate to join our Global Quantitative Equity Research team in New York.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring our daily signal update process and working with data vendors to resolve any issues that may arise
  • Responding to incoming bespoke requests from clients
  • Providing signals for and running analyses for Morgan Stanley industry analysts
  • Assisting with preparation of research publications and presentations*LI-NF1

Skills Required-Master’s degree in Statistics, Quantitative Finance or Econometrics -2-3 years of professional experience in Financial Services – Equity Research (buy or sell side) preferred-Basic knowledge of financial statements, and main valuation and fundamental ratios required-Programming skills required: SAS experience is required; R & Python are a plus-Strong attention to detail is required-Communication skills: ability to explain one’s work clearly and concisely, and to communicate with a less technical audience-Persistence i.e. ability to “endure” tedious tasks (data importing, cleaning, checking…) without losing focus or intensity-Being a self-starter, taking initiatives, being curious is a must-Passion for investing is a plus
