Job Summary:
This role will work within the Corporate Accounting team in San Francisco. The successful General Ledger Accountant candidate must be a problem- solver who can roll up their sleeves to deliver results; a motivated self-starter who can run with their own projects and work as a team; must be detail-oriented, organized, and thorough, with a desire of continuous improvement; must have knowledge of complex accounting principles in both cash and accrual accounting; good interpersonal skills; organizational skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines.
Job Functions:
  • Support the month-end close process in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist with monthly variance analysis and reclasses
  • Prepare monthly BS account reconciliations
  • Develop ad hoc analyses and reports for business partners as requested
  • Maintain process documentation and ensure SOX 404 compliance
  • Take a significant role in identifying system and process improvements to drive efficiency and effectiveness
  • Assist with other special projects

Skills and Education:
  • Degree in accounting or related field, CPA preferred
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience
  • Self -starter with ability to interpret financial data with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to identify trends and interpret data and translate into actionable information
  • Excellent communication skills; proven ability to effectively communicate to senior level personnel either written or verbally
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial theory
  • Proficient in Microsoft tools (Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with SAP systems preferred
