About the Role:
The Staff Accountant will support all aspects of the accounting activities and will assist in providing management with financial information by researching, recording, and analyzing accounts. This includes performing account reconciliations, preparing general ledger entries, and reviewing bank activity reports to ensure that all payments made by and to the organization are processed appropriately. The Staff Accountant will also support the Accounting team by performing day to day accounting tasks as well as any assigned projects.

You Will:

  • Prepare journal entries by compiling, analyzing, and substantiating financial transactions
  • Maintain and balance account reconciliations by inputting, reconciling, and verifying data
  • Assist in developing and implementing accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes
  • Support addressing accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Support the month-end close process and reporting analysis
  • Assist in the annual audit, including year-end schedules and financial statement preparation
  • Assist with other accounting tasks and special projects

You Have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Two years’ experience in a business office setting performing accounting duties is required
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (i.e. pivot tables and VLOOKUP’s experience is required)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Understanding of accounting and financial processes
