Fraud & Revenue Protection Analyst

Role Summary

The Fraud & Revenue Protection Analyst works within a newly established unit within Alaska Air Group’s revenue accounting department to proactively detect and prevent financial fraud in all sales channels and accounts.

Scope & Complexity

This position supports routine to moderately-complex fraud and revenue protection activities for Alaska Air Group (AAG) and its subsidiaries.

Key Duties

Monitors and researches customer payment records, utilizing various third party and in-house tools and work queues, to investigate and independently validate transactions as either fraudulent or legitimate.

Identifies high-risk transactions and responds promptly to mitigate potential losses (e.g., places holds, restricts customer travel, or cancels reservations).

Gathers information from customers to help identify discrepancies and/or eliminate suspicion.

Collaborates with risk counterparts including banks, merchants, law enforcement, and other internal teams and individuals to identify and prevent fraud and to eliminate risks.

Partners with peers and leadership to communicate fraud trends and to share best practices.

Assists with internal financial fraud investigations as needed.

Job-Specific Skills

Required

A minimum of 1 year of experience in a high-transaction, e-commerce payment fraud prevention operation.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong customer service skills.

Moderate knowledge of fraud prevention and detection best practices.

Basic knowledge of credit card chargeback processes and procedures.

Demonstrated experience and an exceptional working knowledge of computer systems and programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and various internet search tools and platforms.

Some weekend, holiday, and evening work may be required.

Minimum age of 18.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

Experience with a commercial fraud detection platform.

Experience working with a Global Distribution System (GDS).

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

An Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science degree is preferred.
