Badging & Access Management Program Administrator

Role Summary

The Badging & Access Management Program Administrator provides critical oversight of Alaska Air Group’s badging and facility access program, as well as ensuring compliance with all company policies and CFRs (Code of Federal Regulations), TSRs, IATA, and IOSA regulations related to issuance, control, and auditing of ID and access control media.

Scope & Complexity

This professional-level position oversees a moderately-complex to complex company badging and facilities access program for Alaska Air Group (AAG) and its subsidiaries.

Key Duties

Initiates and leads cross-company efforts to minimize security risks related to badging and facility access.

Creates, communicates, implements, and oversees policies, procedures, and regulatory standards for all badging, facility, and flight deck access controls.

Leads strategic planning where software programs, training, system development, and facility operations are involved to ensure badging and facility access concerns are addressed.

Tracks and communicates the percentage of lost/stolen/unaccounted for ID media on a monthly basis to ensure supervisor(s) aware of status in relation to federally imposed limits.

Extrapolates and communicates of lost/stolen/unaccounted for ID media percentage trajectories against monthly turnover to determine proximity to federally mandated reissue/revalidation regulations.

Issues and/or ensures issuance of all new hire and existing employee reissue requirements.

Documents, communicates, and escalates access security issues to appropriate parties.

Prepares access control reports in response to investigative inquiries.

Partners with leaders across AAG on an as-needed basis to ensure appropriate facility/area access authority-levels, protocols, and compliance, along with communicating key partner responsibilities.

Assists in overseeing badging and facility access-related vendors and consultants to ensure company security systems are designed, deployed, and maintained accordance with regulations, industry standards, and company needs.

Partners with other Corporate Security staff on the addition of new area access-control requirements.

Leads access security and badging projects with personnel from the badging team and other departments.

Assists in conducting access security risk assessments, including reviews of the contractor/vendor badging process,

Partners with business units and other departments to frequently evaluate and streamline access control management with special emphasis on all AAG’s high- security areas,

Advises project teams to ensure new policies and procedures meet the needs of cross-divisional clients while ensuring compliance requirements are met.

Stays current on all company policies, CFRs (Code of Federal Regulations), TSRs, IATA and IOSA regulations related to issuance, control, and auditing of ID and access control media.

Job-Specific Skills

Required

A minimum of 2 years of security, access management, project management or similarly relevant experience.

The ability to travel within the US and to Canada and Mexico, with occasional overnight stays.

Demonstrated (moderate to advanced) computer skills including: working with database programs, online information tracking, basic troubleshooting and intuitive processing.

Demonstrated skills in the following areas: security, compliance, communication, risk management, customer service, problem solving, conflict resolution, project management.

Adeptness at relationship-building with various levels of leadership across all divisions.

A self-starter who takes initiative in finding solutions to difficult and unique problems and/or opportunities.

Minimum age of 18

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

A working knowledge of TSA guidelines as well as AAG’s Badging and Access Security Policy.

A working knowledge of OnGuard or other access management systems.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree, with a focus in business or technical discipline, is preferred.
