This Financial Analyst l will be responsible for:

• Analyzing financial status of research grants and contracts for assigned departments and taking required actions according to departmental policies.
• Establishing new grant cost centers on financial system for new grants and contracts, and closing out cost centers when grant term ends.
• Running queries for the financial system and scrutinizing financial transactions in order to prepare the requisite financial status reports for grant sponsors.
• Researching and interpreting sponsor regulations as well as individual grant terms and conditions and counseling the PIS and administrators on their financial impact.
• Tracing financial transactions from financial reports back to original source documentation, through a maze of hospital financial systems and ledgers.
• Resolving problems and maintaining accurate database information on financial systems.

To qualify, you must have:

• The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related field and two to three years of previous experience plus three to six months of time on the job.
• The analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in‑depth, experienced‑based cross‑functional knowledge.
• The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
