Financial Accountant – BS&B Premco, LLC

JOB SUMMARY:

Primary responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of the weekly and monthly financial reports. Maintain inventory controls and supervise inventory counts including cycle counts. Project accounting review and analysis will also be required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Completion of AR and AP functions
  • Assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly reports
  • Maintain B/S schedules and registers
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Preparation of Budgets, Cash Flows and Ad hoc reports
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory count discrepancies including cycle counts
  • Identify process improvements to increase inventory accuracy and improve warehouse efficiency
  • Implement cost control measures, monitor costs and standard costs
  • Ensure accuracy of data entered to Great Plains Project Accounting Module including project set up, budget, billings, change orders, revenue recognition and costs
  • Analyze project financial reports weekly and participate in weekly project review meetings
  • Complete month end processes and respond to queries on a timely basis
  • Prepare audit schedules and assist in the annual financial audit
  • Complete government filings as they arise
  • Various work assignments or special projects

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: A bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Project Accounting and Inventory controls knowledge and experience a must. Experience of working with financial software packages. Knowledge of ERP Systems with experience of Great Plains software is desirable.

Knowledge: Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping. Effective oral and written communication. Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality. Excellent organizational skills.

Mental/Physical/Visual Demands: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to lift up to twenty-five pounds. Frequently needs to talk and hear. Occasionally stands, walks and sits, as well as using hands to touch or feel, and arms to reach.

Working Conditions: General office conditions. Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).

Equipment/Tools Used: Must possess the ability to learn the computer system and work with company enterprise software. Frequently uses office equipment such as telephones, facsimile machine, photocopier, LCD projector, etc.

Safety: Safe work performance is required from each employee at all times. Additionally, the proper discharge of safety responsibilities is an integral part of each employee’s performance appraisal.
