FAO Accounting Manager

JOSEPH EVE is seeking a Finance & Accounting Outsourcing Manager located in our Billings, Montana office. As part of the Finance & Accounting Outsourcing team you are responsible for maintaining an excellent rapport with clients, partners, and staff to complete the highest level of accounting services.

Responsibilities: This position will provide the following services to our clients:

• Provide supervision on day-to-day and month end closing activities of the FAO team to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Communicate frequently with FAO staff and client accounting staff via electronic review notes, comments, and email messaging to meet closing deadlines
• Design and establish processes and procedures to meet the changing needs of the clients’ business environment
• Ensure staff-prepared reconciliations of balance sheet and major income statement accounts are audit-ready
• Draft financial statements and note disclosures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for governments
• Lead the development and preparation of client operating budgets, forecasts, and analysis of current results
• Review sales tax returns, personal property tax returns, payroll tax returns, casino gaming withholding forms, or other regulatory forms as requested
• Utilize cloud-based technologies for general ledger, document storage, communication, and checklist/reconciliation management
• Manage multiple deadlines for a range of deliverables while adhering to time budgets and allotments

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5+ years in business process outsourcing (BPO)
• Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); knowledge of Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB), National Indian Gaming Commission Minimum Internal Control Standards (NIGC MICS) and the gaming industry a plus
• Working knowledge of computer-based accounting systems with recent transactional experience; Intacct experience a plus
• Recognition of the relative risks of transaction classes, account balances, or specified transactions
• Experience reading and interpreting government regulations, tax forms, and other material to reach actionable conclusions
• Demonstrates strong analytical capabilities with a high attention to detail
• Ability to work well within a team
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required; CPA license required
• Strong Microsoft Office proficiency is required, with an emphasis on Excel
