Enterprise Integration Manager

Seeking Enterprise Integration Manager. Offering Work/Life Balance.

The University of Portland’s Information Services Department invites applications for an Enterprise Integration Manager responsible for leading the design, implementation, and administration of complex systems. Specifically, this position will manage a team of integration developers and application administrators, working with multiple business segments, functional and technical personnel, and external partners to lead the development and implementation of integration solutions.

A few of the benefits offered by the University include: annual pay of $75,000 to $77,000 and generally a 35-hour work week; medical, dental, long-term disability and life insurance; paid holiday break in December in addition to vacation/sick time; tuition remission for employee and family members (consistent with University policies), retirement contributions (generally after two years of employment), and a home purchase assistance program. Responsibilities:
Technological Duties

Provide subject matter expertise across multiple integration technologies to enhance platform stability, usability, and cost effectiveness.

Design, build, and maintain tools that monitor, automate, and streamline integration performance, quality and SLAs.

Increase reusability of integration components.

Create or maintain standards and best practices for object naming conventions, design, and coding.

Stay current with industry specific knowledge.

Evaluate specifications and features of new products, performing cost/benefit analysis and product/cost comparisons. Understand business operations and make technical recommendations regarding software/hardware.

Develop detailed understanding of relevant business and technical knowledge.

Resolve issues quickly and make decisions that meet university objectives, in a collaborative culture

Develop roadmaps & business cases for upgrades or the introduction of new integration technologies.

Assist the DBA in basic administration duties to maintain data and data structure integrity within the Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL databases.

Managerial Duties

Manage and supervise a high performing team; establish employee backup and succession plans; ensure continued professional development of the team. Supervisory responsibilities include hiring processes, setting of expectations, training and mentorship, performance management and evaluations, and disciplinary processes including termination of employment.

Oversee team resolution of technology issues and problems according to expected SLAs.

Oversee & prioritize staff workload, creating opportunities for cross-system training.

Lead development activities, including: environment configuration, coordination of developer setup and onboarding, code build/testing/deployment, release packaging, and release scheduling.

Ensure successful project delivery, including appropriateness of application designs, personnel allocation, resource utilization against budget, supervision of project team members, and meeting scheduled deliverables.

Demonstrate ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff.

Assist with department budget and supervise department-related spending.

Other Duties

Coordinate with other organizational units in information services to ensure that dependencies are managed and adjustments are made to communicate accurate project status.

Provide weekly status updates and prepare technical reports and briefings concerning performance of the system and system related problems and corrections.

Have exceptional customer relationship skills, consensus building skills, and ability to establish effective working relationships in a diverse environment.

Other duties as relevant to the duties of the position or as assigned by supervisor or designee.

Requirements:
Education and Experience

Required: bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline.

Required: three years of management experience.

Required: five years of experience in designing, developing, and delivering customized integration solutions.

Required: technical knowledge and experience as follows:
Extensive knowledge of PL/SQL, as well as supporting technologies such as SQL Server, Linux, PowerShell, SML and Java; experience with database programming languages, including T-SQL, PL/SQL; experience with relational database.

Highly Preferred: technical knowledge and experience as follows:

  • Experience with SOAP and/or REST based web services and API development.
  • Experience with scripting languages: JavaScript, PowerShell.
  • Experience with HTTP, HTTPs, FTP protocols.
  • Experience working with ERP (such as Ellucian Banner).
  • Experience with MS SQL Server technologies.
  • Familiarity with C#.

Or equivalent education and/or experience.
