Engineering Technician (Entry Level)

Western Technologies Inc. has an excellent opportunity in our Las Vegas office for a construction materials testing laboratory technician. This position require a minimum of one year construction related experience and interest in learning construction materials testing techniques. We will teach you how to perform our laboratory testing of concrete, soil, asphalt, and other construction materials and mix designs according to ASTM procedures. Basic knowledge of masonry and asphalt laboratory testing procedures is preferred. Laboratory certification or ability to achieve (2 to 3 months) concrete and soil laboratory certifications desirable. Other responsibilities will include assisting with maintaining AMRL / CCRL / NDOT accreditation, preparing daily reports, documenting test results, assist project managers and engineers with assignments. Organizational skills, computer skills, good math skills, clean driving record are required.

Certifications preferred but not required include:

American Concrete Institute (ACI)

– Field Level I

– Lab Level I

– Strength Testing

NAQTC, WAQTC, NICET Level III and/or ICC certifications in:

– Field

– Soils / Aggregate

– Asphalt

– Masonry
