Join BBH as a Designer

The BBH Designer is a critical part of a dynamic global Creative Services (CS) team responsible for design and production of print and electronic marketing materials that support a variety of business/growth objectives. To be successful in this role, you must be a creative thinker and design expert, as well as a steward of the BBH brand – working to bring all projects and deliverables to an increasingly higher brand standard.

As the Designer you will be responsible for design and production of a wide variety of print and digital marketing materials. This will include working with business managers to identify specific communication needs and strategies, consulting on appropriate and effective deliverables, and maintaining a high-level of customer service and professionalism. You may work also work independently on simple projects or with CS senior staff on larger, more complex projects.

This role will also have responsibility for coordination of team workflow/project queue and production processes. You will help to manage project workload for other team members and ensure that all designers are assigned to the appropriate projects based on deliverable dates and project complexity. You will also be a liaison to the firm’s marketing teams, internal communications teams, and other parties within the bank, and will keep things moving under pressure and on tight deadlines. This role demands organization, attention to detail, adaptability, and strong relationship management skills.

The Designer reports directly to BBH’s Creative Director.

Responsibilities:

Design of Print or Virtual Materials

  • Design print materials such as, but not limited to, product sheets, invitations, advertisements, and multi-page newsletters and brochures
  • Design virtual materials for internet or other electronic distribution
  • Design advertisements for any of the three BBH business lines as needed
  • Maintain visual consistency across business lines through adherence to/interpretation of the BBH style guide and branding
  • Contribute to the on-going development of the BBH TIER System
  • Assist with high-end PPT presentations and graphics
  • Support senior staff on large, complex projects and initiatives, etc.

Communication & Collaboration
Work closely with senior staff members
Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal clients and business leaders
Cultivate and maintain relationships with outside consultants/vendors
Workflow Coordination and Project Management
Facilitate on-going weekly team status meetings
Manage job intake and maintain project records in CS database
Distribute all new projects to CS designers according to availability and project need
Manage project workload by meeting all deadlines and following CS protocol
Work with team on end-of-year reporting and any issues that may become known during the life of a project
Maintain strong relationships with firm’s marketing teams, internal communications teams, and other parties within the bank
Qualifications:
BFA or BA with some formal design training
5 to 7 years Graphic Design experience, financial industry experience preferred
Work experience in a corporate environment, a plus
MicroSoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat required
Strong InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator ability
Appropriate written and verbal communication skills
Ability to perform the technical responsibilities of the job with a high-level of competence
Ability to perform long-range tasks while experiencing short-term interruptions
Ability to work in a team environment
Willing to take direction from senior design staff
Must enjoy a consistently fast-paced and challenging work atmosphere
Ability to work creatively on a team or independently
High-level of critical thinking and problem solving skills
High-level of organizational and interpersonal skills, detailed oriented, and deadline driven
