Data Science Intern – Summer 2018

MongoDB is seeking a highly motivated graduate student with statistics expertise to join our Analytics team for the summer. The Data Science intern will be involved in a high profile project, utilizing quantitative skills to analyze and summarize data, formulate findings, and provide recommendations to product leaders. You will conduct data analysis and develop statistical models to solve high value business problems. You will have the opportunity to engage collaboratively with stakeholders throughout the organization and present your findings to a broad audience.

Our summer program is comprehensive and interactive – you won’t sit behind a desk all day. We have social outings (think team dinners, broadway shows, NYC sightseeing, and more) and an intern speaker series where you’ll hear from some of the most significant and important people in tech today. You’ll gain insight into what makes a billion dollar company run. At the end of the summer you’ll be a better software engineer and a more informed citizen of the world.

The right candidate for this role will:

• Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or related fields
• Experience evaluating, fitting, and interpreting results of common statistical models
• Experience with a scripting language, preferably python or R
• Self-motivated, independent, organized and proactive
• Ability to think critically and work autonomously
• Experience with non-relational databases desirable
