Open Positions: 25 Customer Service Representative – part time and on-call

Pay Rate: $13.15 per hour

Responsibilities:

WHAT DOES A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES DO FOR AIRLINES?

(Note: Your duties may vary depending on the size of your work location.)

  • Responsibilities include greeting and handling Customers in a polite and friendly manner;
  • Provides a variety of information to customers/travelers, page customers, resolve problems or complaints and assist as needed;
  • Handles customers concerns and questions in timely and efficient manner;
  • Provides answers to all general inquiries from Customers and other visitors to the airport terminal;
  • Must maintain the ability to wear prescribed uniforms

QUALIFICATIONS:

-High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

-Must be at least 18 years of age.

-Must have authorization to work in the United States

-Customer Service Experience is a plus but not required

-Bi-lingual a plus but not required

-Professional Appearance

NOTE: To work at the airport, you must be able to obtain a Port Authority badge. You will be required to meet all Port Authority requirements. Job seekers will be required to get fingerprinted which will review your record nationally. Job seekers must have no conviction, guilty plea, or judgment not guilty by reason of insanity in the last 10 years.

WHAT ARE THE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF A CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT?

Must be able to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds; Must be able to climb, bend, kneel and stand on a frequent basis and for extended periods; and must be able to use your fingers/hands to keyboard

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BEING A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

-You will need to be available to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays and overtime;

-Typing and keyboarding skills;

-Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Customer Service Agent training program with an 80% or greater average and an evaluation period;

-This is a union position
