This Customer Service Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Accepting incoming calls promptly and courteously to identify, resolve, and respond to issues, questions, and concerns from parents, patients, insurance carriers, and hospital departments.
  • Collecting, verifying, and updating all demographic and financial / insurance information via telephone and electronically.
  • Interacting with patients, family, and clinicians to resolve account or charging issues.
  • Providing requested documents to insurers, third parties, and attorney in timely manner.
  • Providing requested documents to insurers, third parties, and attorney in timely manner.
  • Resolving patient credit balances.
  • Creating laboratory, pre-admits, and other registrations as necessary.
  • Providing language interpretation services for PFS as needed.
  • Collecting and assign referrals received via telephone, fax, and / or electronically.
  • Processing and classifying bad debt for self-pay accounts.
  • Reviewing PCP and self-pay exceptions report and resolve issues.
  • Monitoring and distributing OR schedule.
  • Participating in special projects as required by other PFS teams as requested.
  • Participating in training newly hired staff on system navigation and process flow.
  • Demonstrating ability to assist co-worker, hospital community or outside entity in resolving issues or difficult situations.

To qualify, you must have:

  • A high school level of educational development and one year of previous experience. Previous experience in Third Party insurance billing is preferred.
  • The analytical skill to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.
  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
  • Customer service oriented which includes the ability to interact professionally and handle sensitive information issues in a confidential and respectful manner.
