To protect the UK from terrorism, the nation’s police forces must work together. That calls for advanced tools and systems that allow them to collaborate. This ICT is critical and must be in line with industry best practice – which is why we need a skilled Data Standards Architect Officer. Join us for your chance to work on systems that can help keep the country safe.

Joining our Data Technical Standards Unit (DTSU), you’ll be responsible for the architectural and data standards for the Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) ICT function. That means developing design standards and preparing them for widespread adoption. These standards must be aligned with the information models of our partner organisations. Data Catalogue standards are particularly important – these will make collaboration possible with as the Home Office on projects and programmes. As information is shared across national projects and with suppliers, you’ll support data migration, so we can work as a single team.

Ready to work in a complex, challenging area? If so, you’ll need solid experience of owning application standards. You could have worked in either the private or public sector. Whatever your background, you’ll need an in-depth understanding of IT architecture, especially in a policing context. You’ll also need to be a skilled user of the Enterprise Architect tool (Sparx Systems). First rate business analysis skills (UML, BPMN, Gap) are another key essential. Your technical expertise should include database administration too: structures, integration, SQL and Oracle.

Please be aware that you’ll need to pass DV security standards.
