CFO Bookkeeper

Job Summary

RTM Business Group is looking for a part time CFO & Bookkeeper (eventually handing over bookkeeping to a direct report) to assume leadership over finance related, day-to-day and reporting documentation operations, on a part-time basis (approximately 2 days per week).

The position is responsible for the daily accounting, processing and bookkeeping operations of the agency. These include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the agency’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

This position will also perform month-end activities, bank reconciliations, payroll allocations, and prepare reports and financial statements on a regular basis and as needed. This position has access to sensitive financial information and is expected to handle such information with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.

Ultimately, you will play a vital role in our company’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with the law and accuracy in accounting. You must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Organize and update financial records as needed (digital and physical)
  • Analyze transactions and prepare reports
  • Perform regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents, expenditures and investments
  • Forecast revenue and analyze profit margins
  • Oversee ledger reconciliation and manage accounts payable/receivable
  • Participate in budgeting processes
  • Brief senior managers regularly on the company’s financial status
  • Liaise with Tax Accountants to track tax payments and returns
  • Monitor bookkeeping activities regularly
  • Keep company financial information confidential
  • Establish accounting policies and procedures
  • Stay informed on industry developments and changes in regulations

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a high-level financial capacity required.
  • Minimum of 2 years managing other members of a financial and/or operational team.
  • CPA Certification required
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online or other accounting software.
  • Understanding of local, state and federal level grant reporting.

Some evening/weekend work, though rare, may be required, on a project specific basis, when tasked with meeting multiple external reporting deadlines. Must have the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or/or feel, speak and hear.
