Buffalo Bayou Park Venue Coordinator II

The Buffalo Bayou Park Venue Coordinator II oversees Buffalo Bayou Park’s tour program and special events. He/she coordinates the calendar management, scheduling and ticketing for all park tours (walking, history, nature) and all boat tours (history, bat, private charters). BBP’s food truck program is also the responsibility of the Venue Coordinator II. In addition, the Venue Coordinator II is responsible for the successful execution of special events within the park, specifically the Water Works and Eleanor Tinsley Park.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responds to inquiries related to all park and boat tours
  • Keeps calendar up to date with all tour reservations and food truck schedule
  • Maintains tour records (statistical and financial)
  • Maintains Doubleknot software (online reservation and sales system)
  • Coordinates logistics for events with park staff, clients and vendors
  • Manages park permitted events involving pre & post event site visits and event day executions
  • Manages food truck program scheduling, payments and permitting
  • Keeps Buffalo Bayou Park staff informed of tour schedules and special events
  • Works cohesively with Venue Coordinator I to assist with Cistern operations as needed
  • Communicates with BBP’s Controller regarding financial issues related to the tour program
  • Communicates with BBP’s Director of PR and Events and Communications and Events Coordinator to promote tours and food trucks

  • Ability to manage online reservations and sales system
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work weekends, evening hours and holidays if necessary
  • Educational Qualifications and Experience
  • Undergraduate degree preferably in the fields of communication, marketing or public relations

Required Education and Experience

Associate or bachelor’s degree (preferred) with a focus in event management, marketing, public relations or related field. At least one years’ experience in a customer-service and/or event planning related position.
