Associate-Finance – IBD41117ASMA

Duties: Associate-Finance with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York, NY. Advise clients on strategic alternatives for executing M&A. Create and analyze financial models, and perform scenario analyses to examine the effect of strategic alternatives. Participate in client dialogue in meetings and on calls. Compare structural alternatives for companies looking to acquire or exit businesses. Market new ideas to internal teams. Track relevant precedents for M&A spins, splits, Reverse Morris Trusts (RMTs), joint ventures. Draft market updates with regards to announcements on new deals, rules, and changes in law.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or equivalent) in Finance, Engineering, Economics, Business or an analytical field. Will accept a single or combination of degrees or diplomas deemed equivalent by a qualified credentials evaluations service. Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related corporate finance and valuation position. Prior work experience must include: Experience with structuring, analyzing and executing complex mergers and acquisitions transactions in excess of $500 million and executing debt or equity transactions in excess of $100 million; Understanding the basics of corporate finance to enable financial modeling; determining, building and reviewing financial models and analyses; Building highly technical and dynamic financial models that incorporate corporate finance and taxation concepts, to evaluate various strategic alternatives, and analyze impact of different structures, using Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint; Supervising, guiding and coordinating junior professionals’ work product, including reviewing financial modeling work and presentations prepared for transactions, corporate board meetings, investment banking pitches and client service projects on corporate finance topics; Developing complex presentations to present and provide highly sophisticated advice to CEO / CFO level corporate clients on topics such as strategic and structuring alternatives and corporate strategy, at Board meetings and pitches and on conference calls; Managing multiple live projects; Coordinating with clients, external counsel, co-advisors and senior deal team members to ensure smooth execution of deals; Utilizing knowledge of market dynamics and the legislative landscape and how legal and economic trends may impact complex M&A transactions. FINRA Series 79 license required. Travel required.
