Assistant Plant Controller, Reynosa MX

Job Description:

The Assistant Plant Controller functions as the key accounting professional in the plant and is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of results and maintenance of the company’s assets through balance sheet integrity and ensuring a strong control environment. The Assistant Plant Controller also serves as the business partner to the Plant Controller focusing largely on providing financial and operational leadership and improvements, including identifying and driving cost reductions.

Major Responsibilities:

Manage operational financial reporting, financial analysis and manufacturing cost analysis:

  • Prepare actual, forecast, and budget scenarios throughout the course of the year;
  • Analyze plant performance, evaluate variances and provide the effects on plant results
  • Provide reports to drive business results;
  • Serve as project manager on cost reduction initiatives, working cross functionally with engineers, procurement.

Functions as a business partner to effectively manage and supervise the following functions:

  • US and MX Accounts Payables;
  • Mexico local and Federal Tax Compliance;
  • Mexico Payroll for an average of 3,000 employees.

Accountable for ensuring balance sheet integrity, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and fostering a strong control environment in the plant :

  • Manage month end close process;
  • Ensure full compliance and improve Sarbanes-Oxley requirements;
  • Mitigate business risks;
  • Proactive on seeking and improved deficiencies.

Provide ongoing development, mentoring, and foster learning culture:

  • Provide effective leadership to staff, direct reports, and others in the Company to improve their performance and assist their career development;

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance required; CPA or MBA a plus
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in a large manufacturing plant
  • English & Spanish proficiency is a must
  • SAP and HFM experience a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications and possess strong background with information technology.
