Analyst-Accounting

Job Summary

The Analyst works collaboratively with other staff in the Accounting Department to support Company’s business initiatives. This role requires that the Analyst works closely with stakeholders to collect requirements and produce deliverables in the form of data sets or reports to drive business decisions. The Analyst verifies data integrity and validity of information and must possess strong analytical and reconciliation skills with ability to interpret, analyze, reconcile data and present the result in professional manner. The role also requires understanding of internal control concepts and experience in applying them in day-to-day activities.


Essential Functions/Performance Dimensions and Tasks

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:


Essential Functions

  • Perform review and audit of reimbursement invoices for the loan portfolio
  • Complete client billings, review and prepare payment disbursement and billing batches for processing
  • Perform reconciliation of REO reimbursement invoices and inventory reconciliations for various clients to support disbursements and billings
  • Participate in month end close process by ensuring the integrity and accuracy of information
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, quarterly forecasts and annual budget
  • Prepare aging analysis and other reconciliations for various clients
  • Participate and provide analytical and operational support in new business initiatives
  • Prepare standard and ad-hoc reports and analysis as requested to support departmental process
  • Escalate issues to proper department or supervisor for resolution or reassignment
  • Research solutions when necessary to complete the task and to improve process efficiency

Service Excellence

  • Conduct periodic audits or assessments to identify corrective action needed for deficiencies
  • Create new and maintain existing customized reporting, templates, models, metrics, and process documentations
  • Communicate audit or assessment results and findings to management, clients or vendors as directed
  • Review findings and suggest process improvements for departmental efficiency
  • Maintain existing process documentation and create process documentation for new processes
  • User Acceptance Testing, as necessary

Service Excellence

  • Respond to client’s, vendor’s and customer’s requests or questions as needed via phone, email, portal or fax
  • Train vendors, clients or customers on internal processes when needed
  • Work collaboratively with vendors, customers, clients and internal staff to increase productivity, promote cost savings, and fosters the adoption of the industry best practices

Job Specifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • License: CPA or in progress of obtaining CPA is a plus
  • Experience: One to three years of accounting experience in financial analysis, reporting, and billing. Prior experience with a mortgage servicer or mortgage services provider is a plus.

Accounting

Demonstrated knowledge of general accounting experience, month end closing, preparing reconciliations, reporting and client billing; payment preparation of disbursements for various vendors; ability to review and document a procedure in relation to a process; ability to work in collaboration internal/external customers to make recommendations for change for which the outcomes will help increase productivity, reduce costs, improve communication, and/or to improve performance; appropriate validation of process to keep Company compliant with contractual obligations, terms and conditions; partner with end-users to develop knowledge of the business and how they operate to support as needed; intermediate skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, working experience of ERP system(s), Mas 500 is a plus.

Required Knowledge: Principles and processes for providing customer service; structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar; Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer)

Job Context:
The majority of work will be performed indoors in an environmentally controlled setting. Some property inspections and conferences will require travel and performing work outside of a controlled office setting. The work environment also includes: business casual; frequent contact with others via e-mail, telephone, face-to-face, letters and memos; daily decisions which have high impact on co-workers and company results; a high level of autonomy within highly structured process flows; and, may frequently include working beyond 40 hours per week.
