SUMMARY

In the role of Technology Lead, you will be a technology professional adding value to a gamut of Software Development lifecycle stages. You will write designs and/or review technical designs and functional specifications with system Analysts and business users to ensure that development will be in compliance with the business requirements and technical best practices. Development responsibility include RPG and CL programming. Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 10+ years systems analysis and programming experience in iSeries environments using RPG (and full RPG-Free – using fully free F and D specs in particular), preferred experience with MKS Implementer and ROBOT scheduler, Unix platform knowledge a plus.
  • 3+ year of COBOL, CA2E, XML, SQL, Embedded SQL, SEQUEL and MQ Series

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Research and recommend changes where technology can be better used within the overall systems environment to improve efficiency, lower costs, and enhance the quality of business applications.
  • Sets vision for application teams working with Enterprise and Data Architects to ensure all are working toward long term technical goals
  • Write designs and/or review technical designs and functional specifications with Systems Analysts and business users to ensure that development will be in compliance with the business requirements and technical best practices. May hand off development to others or retain development responsibility depending on the situation. The work will include RPG and CL programs, and setting up jobs in ROBOT to execute programs for these systems. This position will also use MKS Implementer to promote code through the test environments to staging for production.
  • Coordinate work with other Leads and IS management through facilitating work sessions. Provide technical guidance to other team members or on/offshore contractors and lead programming projects in a team-oriented environment.
  • Assist the Project Manager or other team members in preparing and/or reviewing project plans per business requirements to determine estimates, time frame, procedures for accomplishing project, adherence to best practices.
  • Review all design specifications, testing, and acceptance testing results.
  • Work with business users to develop and implement user acceptance test plan to ensure that product meets customer requirements and expectations.
  • Maintain regular written communication on project status with Team/Project lead and IT management.
  • Troubleshoot complex and difficult application production problems and give direction to team members to resolve.

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
