    Responsibilities

    This position is located in the Houston Division, Houston, TX.

    The incumbent will perform the following duties:

    • Identify deficiencies and weaknesses in processing transactions.
    • Resolve non-standard transactions, complaints, or discrepancies in processing invoices, such as auditing and correcting cases involving overpayment or underpayment of invoices for several periods of service.
    • Receive, review, prepare and process difficult procedural and technical accounting documents/transactions that result from issues such as insufficient information or a need for deviation in processing procedures.
    • Prepare and ensure sufficient funds have been obligated and totals are correct.
    • Perform fiscal communications tasks to ensure timely and accurate processing of interagency agreements, delivery orders and vendor notifications.
    • Maintain, control, and reconcile accounting transactions and records for multiple accounts. Provide customer service to vendors, resource advisor, financial analyst, and other external and internal customers.

    Qualifications

    GS-07: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 Federal grade level performing the following duties: examining accounts and resolving difficult reconciliations, analyzing, and recommending solutions regarding fiscal accounting activity; researching, interpreting, and applying regulations, policies, and procedures.

    GS-08: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 Federal grade level performing the following duties: performing extensive and diverse accounting operations and procedures governing a wide variety of transactions to resolve nonstandard transactions, complaints, or discrepancies; reconciling accounts in accounting systems involving subdivision of accounts, frequent and varied adjustments to accounts.

    PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT: Applicant must be able to type 40 words per minute with 3 or fewer errors.
