Youth Engagement Officer – Volunteer Services

Department: Corporate Nursing

Location: BC based with work across all sites

AFC Band: 5

Hours Per Week: 37.5

Fixed Term: 12 months with option to extension to 24


This Vacancy

BWC is a beacon site for youth volunteering and the recipient of funding from the Pears Foundation Health and Care #iwillfund. The project aims to review, re-evaluate, reposition and grow youth volunteering within the Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Officer with a passion for youth engagement and youth social action.


About Us

The Volunteer Services team recruits, trains and supports volunteers who help to improve experience of patients and families at BWC.


Who we are looking for

We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead on the development and delivery of this new exciting project.

The successful candidate is dynamic, highly motivated and a great team player; has excellent project management skills and experience of working with young people; is an excellent communicator with the ability to build working relationships both internally and externally; has recent experience of partnership working especially within the Voluntary Community and Youth sector.

BWC is a teaching hospital and as such you may come into contact with students of many disciplines. Staff must comply with Trust policy and respective regulatory body requirements in relation to training and updating and fulfil duties of mentorship and assessment as required.
