Global Defense, Inc. (GDI) is a Small Business specializing in strategic planning and performance management; program and project management; acquisition strategy development and documentation; technology management and assessment; budgeting and cost analysis for the U.S government.

GDI is searching for a Web Services Engineer for our North Charleston, SC office. This position requires a minimum 12 years’ experience in web services/application development and customization for C4I systems. The Web Services Engineer will work as part of an Agile/SCRUM Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) team to customize web services and applications to enhance user functionality and integrate emerging requirements. This position will build, secure, migrate, implement, and document web/applications and virtualized server solutions in an environment that supports VMWare hosting of Windows/Linux and other applications on an enterprise network that utilizes SAN technologies and BMC monitoring solutions.

Experience is required in BMC Product suite (BAO queries) or similar and software programming languages such as Bash, PHP, Oracle SQL, C#, JAVA, JBoss, and Python.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to communicate technical knowledge and direction through briefs, requirements specifications, system design descriptions, test plans and reports, SOVTs, implementation plans and other documentation as well as participate in technical reviews of these deliverables.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 12 years’ experience in web services/application development and customization for C4I systems
  • BS degree desired in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Minimum DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II certification requirements (Security +, related operating system certifications)
  • TS required with SCI Eligibility

  • NetApp Storage, Windows, Linux, VMWare, VEEAM Backup, Enterprise PKI/DoD CAC deployments and Enterprise level Access, Authentication, and Authorization (AAA) Solutions, Comma Separated Value (CSV) adapters, Network monitoring system data protocols, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and Netflow, and Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP).
  • Familiarity with Navy organizational structure and acquisition processes.
  • Agile/SCRUM experience.
