Web Service Developer, Junior
Key Role:

Perform complex analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of computer software for distinct product hardware or technical service lines of businesses. Maintain responsibility for activities that range from software design and operating architecture integration to computer system selection. Apply knowledge of one or more systems and one or more platforms and programming languages. Work under general to little supervision. Assist with training junior software engineer staff, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with software development

-2+ years of experience with programming in Java, J2EE, and PLSQL

-1+ years of experience with programming or configuring an IBM Business Rules Management system, including ILOG or JRules

-Experience with UNIX and Windows

-Experience with data modeling and stored procedure development

-Experience with middle tier technologies, including BEA Tuxedo, Feith Tomcat, Oracle J2EE Portal, and Oracle Application Server

-Knowledge of IBM Rational Team Concert, Rational DOORS Next Generation, Rational Quality Manager, Serena Dimensions, and MS Project Server

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree in CS or Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with the Veterans’ Affairs software development lifecycle, including the Veteran Focused Integration Process (VIP)

-Experience with working in an Agile team

-Experience with providing advice, analysis, and recommendations on technical subjects, including service-oriented architecture (SOA), database models, data standards, security, privacy, technology infrastructure, performance measures, and outcome evaluation

-Experience with project management, including managing both onsite and remote project development teams

-Experience with building and maintaining relationships and collaborating with stakeholders to build a consensus

-Ability to work with clients in a fast-paced high energy environment

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent reading comprehension and analytical skills
