Web Developer/Programmer

The Web Developer/Programmer will create site layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices.

The Web Developer’s responsibilities will include:
Integrate data from various back-end services and databases.

Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs.

Create and maintain software documentation.

Responsible for maintaining, expanding and scaling the departmental site.

Follow emerging technologies/industry trends and applies them into operations and activities.

Partner with web designers to match visual design intent.

Design and create intuitive and applicable user experiences through information architecture, graphic design and user interface development for websites and applications.

Conduct research through analysis of current behaviors and future needs, interviewing key stakeholders and target audiences, and studying leading practices and emerging trends.

Develop final production XHTML, CSS code and web templates. Implement solutions within publishing environments.

Identify and document user and technical requirements.

Develop production quality mock-ups and clickable prototypes as well as production ready graphics, interfaces, templates and sites.

Consult with stakeholders and users to determine cost effective and high quality solutions and advises on the feasibility and direction for website initiatives.

Evaluate the usability of designs through usability testing and personal expertise.

May act as a liaison between the department/division and contractors to ensure the expected level of quality with deliverables.

Perform related responsibilities as required.

Minimum Qualification:
A high school diploma or equivalent and five years of appropriate experience required.

The ideal candidate must have strong communication skills with strong problem solving capabilities.

Must also have technical skills with experience in web development and programming.
