Web Developer

What you’ll be doing…

Marketing web developers are responsible for the creation and maintenance of innovative, interactive, enterprise-class web systems and UIs. This includes desktop and mobile web applications built on languages and frameworks spanning the full web application stack. Web developers on the marketing team implement designs and features across numerous web properties in support of an expanding, international team. This role works closely with other developers, designers, content creators, data analysts, and other stakeholders company- wide. Expertise with Drupal, PHP, JavaScript, CSS, and related tools is required. This role is self-driven, especially with respect to daily task management and project status communication.

Some of the things you’ll be doing will include…

• Building and supporting new, rich, and engaging experiences for prospective and current Tableau customers,
• Optimizing front-end and/or back-end experiences and performance across Tableau’s web presence for all devices,
• Maintaining Tableau brand quality and consistency with high attention to detail,
• Supporting the web needs of a growing marketing team
• Managing code and configuration within an enterprise-scale CMS,
• Troubleshooting issues and providing support to both internal staff and end users.

• Educated. BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Experience

• Advanced knowledge of front-end website languages/libraries/frameworks (3+ years), or advanced experience creating modular components/extensions for Drupal (2+ years) or another PHP-based, enterprise-ready CMS.
• Experience with in-browser debugging and replicating customer issues.
• Experience with source control like Git or SVN.
• Experience with design software like Adobe Creative Suite.
