VP of Information Technology at the Appleton location

As an integral member of the executive leadership team, the VP of IT will be responsible for technology management and the development, configuration, and support of all business systems at Werner. This role will contribute to the development and achievement of the organization’s strategic goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for leading the company’s technology strategy, working closely with business partners, with a focus on driving innovation and achieving business objectives.

Lead the specification of the desired IT application structure, effectively maintain and support the stability of the current IT infrastructure while identifying technology gaps and implementing new technologies to resolve those gaps.

Collaborate with the appropriate departments to proactively develop and maintain a technology plan that supports each department’s organizational needs.

Effectively communicate technology strategies to executive leadership team, staff, partners, customers and ownership.

Continuous assessment and updating of the company-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan in accordance with industry best practices.

Drive incremental business value to the company through the use of technology.

Develop and communicate business case justifications and risk/cost/benefit analyses for technology spending and initiatives.

Work with IT business partners to define and communicate procedures, policies, and standards for the organization for acquiring, implementing, and operating network systems, equipment, software, cloud services and other technologies.

Approve, prioritize, and drive prompt implementation of company IT projects.

Analyze and improve upon technology standards across the organization to maintain a technological and competitive edge within the market inclusive of a comprehensive Cybersecurity plan.

Develop, track, and control the annual operating and capital expenditure budgets.

Other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and direction work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; BA/BS in Computer Science, Business Administration or related majors.
Minimum of 10 years experience in Information Technology.
Minimum 5 years experience in a senior management role, ideally with Technology management in manufacturing environment.
E-Commerce experience highly preferred.
Must be familiar with accounting software, database software, Internet software, inventory software, order processing systems, payroll systems, project management software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
