VP, IT KION Americas & Dematic

The Role:

KION Group IT is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as VP Information Technology – Dematic OU and Americas region. This critical role will be the IT business partner globally for Dematic and for KION Americas. This role will report directly to the EVP, KION Group IT.

The successful candidate will have international experience, a business-centric mindset and outstanding leadership capabilities. This role will strongly contribute to the KION Group IT transforation journey and act as the top IT business partner and leader for our Dematic global business unit and our KION Americas region. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in multiple fields of IT including service delivery, IT transformation and ERP implementation including business / process transformation. One key initiative for the role is the consolidation of the ERP environment (SAP). The VP IT needs to focus on business process harmonization and IT transformation to ensure overall success. The most critical target for this strategic role is to ensure that IT adds maximum value and enables business success for Dematic globally and KION Americas.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Set objectives and strategies that are aligned with both KION Group IT and Dematic OU / KION Americas business strategies
  • Act as IT top business partner to Dematic global leadership team and KION Americas leadership team to enable business success
  • Select and implement suitable technologies to streamline internal operations and help optimize strategic benefits
  • Design and customize IT systems and platforms to improve customer experience in accordance with group-wide standards
  • Plan the implementation of new systems in alignment with the Group’s Head of Application Services
  • Approve purchases of IT equipment and software solutions incl. strategic partnerships with IT providers
  • Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) in the organization to ensure optimal performance
  • Direct and organize IT-related projects in close cooperation with Group IT Head of Project & Portfolio Management
  • Monitor changes or advancements in technology to discover ways the company can gain competitive advantage
  • Analyze the costs, value and risks of information technology to advise management and suggest actions
  • What We Are Looking For:

    Required qualifications & experience

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering or relevant field; Masters degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as VP Information Technology or similar leadership role acting as top IT business partner to an operating unit, division or region
  • Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure
  • Demonstrated experience with consolidation of ERP systems; implementation of SAP4Hana preferred
  • Background in designing/developing IT systems and planning IT implementation
  • Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • A strong strategic and business mindset incl. business/IT transformation
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities in the context of international Groups
  • Ability to work in a complex, highly matrixed organization
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership responsibilites within Information Technology
