Position Summary:
Oversee all aspects of the Consumer Business Engineering organization, including Infrastructure solutions

Advise and coordinate technical strategy and ensure continued use of engineering best practices across an established and productive organization

Coordinate recruiting and retention across the organization

Make hands-on contribution to all engineering components as required

Job Responsibilities

Technical

Lead development and maintenance of the entire consumer business technology stack: consumer-facing and internal services, infrastructure, deployment, and monitoring of highly performant and reliable mission-critical systems

Ensure consistent best practices, processes, and procedures for software development, quality assurance, and maintenance

Develop and coordinate best and consistent technology and architecture choices throughout the organization to support quick time to market, flexibility, strong customer orientation, innovation, and ability to scale to accommodate the company’s growth

Contribute directly to the organization’s architecture, systems, and code as required

Ensure security and privacy practices for both infrastructure and engineering is commensurate with increased value and risk associated with proprietary and international data Management

Mentor, motivate, and lead Engineering and Infrastructure teams and managers as needed to support a vibrant and productive engineering culture

Coordinate recruiting efforts across engineering units to ensure consistency and continued excellence

Ensure the organization is running tactically to keep to schedule and budget, and deliver projects aligned with business objectives Cross-Company Leadership

Lead the organization’s strategic planning process, coordinating with Product Development teams to align engineering and business priorities

As one of the Company’s executives, provide general guidance, leadership, and perspective to move the Company towards its goals

Our ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent; Masters/PhD in related field a plus

10+ years related experience leading Engineering organizations in Internet and/or related technology-oriented startups or small companies

Significant experience in building and maintaining talented Engineering teams

Capital and Opex budgeting experience helpful

Experience moving and maintaining a tech stack to hosted services in the cloud

Deep expertise in some or all of the organization’s technologies:
