Acorns is looking for a producer with hands-on experience creating video content for various platforms to create smart and compelling video content that supports our financial literacy mission. That includes content for our standalone education and editorial site, Grow (grow.acorns.com ( http://grow.acorns.com/ )), as well as in the Acorns app, on social channels and in email and nurture programs.

Our mission is to give the up-and-coming the tools and the knowledge to build wealth—and to build confidence managing every aspect of their financial lives. In this position, you’ll report to our Chief Education Officer, and work closely with Grow’s Managing Editor to workshop ideas, but ultimately own the full video creation process.

This position is based in our New York City office.

Within 1 month, you will:

• Familiarize yourself with Grow articles and present a video strategy focused on driving social and site engagement and growth, and deeper interactions with the Acorns/Grow community.
• Be producing 3+ short, compelling social-friendly videos per week from existing Grow content.
• Be prepared to develop, shoot, edit and produce video content that complements and builds on existing Grow content.
• Have set monthly and 12-month video engagement and growth targets.

Within 6 months, you will:

• Work autonomously—pitching and producing innovative, social- and app-friendly videos each week related to news and money topics and aligned with the Grow editorial calendar.
• Write concise copy overlays that fit Grow’s editorial voice, and source images and footage from third-party sources, as needed.
• Be pitching end executing innovative ideas for video packages that engage our users on multiple platforms.
• Experiment with different video formats and lengths, as well as new social platforms.
• Collaborate on larger multimedia packages that promote user interaction and engagement.
• Share monthly video insight and engagement reports and progress against growth targets on various platforms.

Within 12 months, you will:

• Have demonstrated an excellent sense of the best ways to engage viewers on various platforms.
• Be creating repeatable video formats and franchises that inspire Grow’s audience to continue visiting and engaging with our content.
• Be collaborating regularly on larger multimedia packages that support and deliver on Acorns’ commitment to financial education.
• Have developed a calendar of video packages that align with the Grow editorial calendar and support broader Acorns initiatives.

What you will bring to Acorns:

• 4-6 years of experience, including developing, shooting, editing and producing video content
• Experience conceiving and executing video packages that increased brand engagement and reach
• A deep understanding of creating engaging video for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and other platforms
• Ability to uncover new stories—and new angles on old topics—that people want to share
• Ability to produce clean, top-quality content under deadline
• A desire to present money advice and money-related content in a way that’s not boring or patronizing (or been done 100 times before)
• A passion for what you do—and for what we do at Grow and Acorns

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience creating popular video content for a millennial audience
• Managed and grown social media accounts successful (other than your own)
• A basic understanding of personal finance
• A great sense of humor
