This position is a contract funded position and is subject to annual renewal.

POSITION OBJECTIVE :
Under direction of the OUAC Victim Advocate Lead, the OUAC Victim Advocate provides case management services to victims and families of the Pulse tragedy including initial assessments, resource planning, outreach, access and coordination of community services, and supportive advocacy as needed.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES :
Conduct assessments and identifies areas of need.

Maintain accurate and timely records of clients through detailed case noting of assessments, contacts and progress.

‪‪Link clients to appropriate community resources and coordinates access to those services.

‪‪Implement a complete case plan to monitor clients’ progress towards established goals.

Provide engagement support with clients through follow-up calls and caseload management reports.

‪Establish, maintain and update client case records using approved agency forms and required software.

Maintain confidentiality and complies with all applicable state and federal regulation’s including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Perform other duties as assigned by OUAC Victim Advocate II.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical demands include sitting for extended periods of time; continual use of a telephone system, regular use of standard office equipment such as a computer, fax machine, and copier. Occasional bending and lifting of deliveries and/or materials. Demands also involve protracted concentration. Reliable transportation needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Bilingual in Spanish and English with ability to help translate documents.

2-3 years’ experience in social work setting required.

Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health field preferred.

Demonstrated ability to communicate, problem solve, and work effectively with people of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

In depth knowledge of Case Management practices.

Ability to take initiative, work independently and see tasks to completion.

Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Products.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Skilled at establishing and maintaining positive, ethical, and effective professional relationships with clients and families, coworkers, external providers and customers.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.
