UVBasic Application Developer

Due to expansion and growth we are looking for an energized Software Developer to join the Meritain Core Systems team working in our claims platform. You will be part of a learning culture where teamwork and collaboration are encouraged, excellence is rewarded, and diversity is respected and valued. In this role you will be developing software for our in house applications working on teams and individually. You will have an opportunity to work with the end users and help solve business problems.

FUNDAMENTAL COMPONENTS

Work with a team of Developers / Engineers on functional requirements and specifications. Possess strong communication skills. Instills coding excellence and quality into the team and culture. Software development skills and the ability to design, code, test, debug, document and an eagerness to learn. Primary development language is UVBasic but developer will be collaborating with developers using other technologies (.NET, Java) during projects.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE DESIRED

• Four-year college degree in Computer Sciences or related field OR 4 years of equivalent work experience in software development with object oriented languages. (not a senior developer position)
• Willing to learn Unidata/Universe/Basic/Multivalue Database technologies.
• Ability to work independently and in small groups of developers.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

EDUCATION

The minimum level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
