UI – Front-End Developer

UI front end developer role will be responsible for creating leading edge web experiences that will stand in distinction amongst Katerra’s design and tech peers. Managing expectations with key stakeholders and relationship building is critical to the success of this positon. As Front-end developer you will work closely with respective internal customers (Marketing, HR and Materials Department) to ensure content and overall UX/UI experience is delivered at or above expectations, displaying correctly to UX designs and guidelines. You will be working in Agile mode with close working relationship with offshore team on a day to day basis. You will provide regional support and also respective cover for regions during period of absence & out of regional hours when required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The proven ability to translate customer requirements, design mockups, and style guides into exceptional web experiences

Serve as Katerra digital development’s leading strategist and thought leader for advanced web animation and motion experiences

Ability to lead development of a variety of web experiences with different audiences and objectives, including corporate sites, e-commerce, customer portals, interactive microsites, etc.

Translation of PSDs into functional HTML / CSS mockups

Provide insights into design best practices and previous experiences to improve website designs

Collaborate with backend developers to execute implementations and provide design and user experience insights

To undertake checks on own work completed, ensuring outputs are of the required standards and that activities are coordinated and integrated with other team members

As and when required, participate or lead respective projects

Participate on daily meeting with business and IT stakeholders and provide updates on the day to day development tasks.

Required Skills:
Excellent knowledge and understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, AngularJS, Bootstrap and Parallax best practices and standards

Well versed with latest industry standard tools and willing to apply them for improving and enhancing the functionality.

Experience with Video, Animations, HTML5, responsive and adaptive design and other cutting edge technologies and best practices

Experience with to Source Control Systems, such as Subversion or GIT

Integrations with Web Content Management systems, especially AEM (Adobe CQ5) Experience with 3rd party tools including:

Analytics – Google, Adobe

Marketing Automation – Eloqua, Marketo, Mailchimp/Mandrill etc…

Excellent communications and time management skills.

Have a good understanding of software engineering practices

Experience in implementing and supporting boutique & multi-lingual websites

Excellent knowledge of solution design and software development processes appropriate to the domain

Extensive previous experience of systems development, design and integration or system/project delivery role, and preferably with business-critical, high availability/high-throughput systems from a front-end availability and performance prospective

To undertake checks on own work completed, particularly with end to end unit testing and QA ensuring outputs are of the required standards and that activities are coordinated and integrated with other team members

Experience of managing multiple key stakeholders

Able to multi-task, manage and direct multiple priorities in a fast paced work environment

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Digital Communication, or Digital Media, or related field or equivalent experience

Minimum of 8+ years’ experience as a frontend developer
