Transportation/Traffic Design Technician – Portland, OR

The Portland office of CH2M has an immediate opening for a Roadway Design Engineering Technician.

Our Roadway Engineering Technician career path is your chance to work on Transportation projects that focus on roadway design. Each day you will work with a team of technicians, engineers, and planners to create drawings and documents using software tools and resources supporting our clients’ overall project goals.

Qualified candidates will have 0 to 2 years of CAD experience with Microstation or AutoCAD. Experience with Civil 3D or InRoads is preferred. Experience with Oregon Department of Transportation, Idaho Transportation Department, or Washington Department of Transportation projects is preferred. You should be a well-organized, detail oriented and self-motivated professional with a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each engineering technician project.

Our Engineering Technicians:

• Work with engineers, architects, and project managers to determine project plans and specifications.
• Create layouts, design plans, sketches, and 2D/3D modeling and electronic document drawing files.
• Strengthen individual skill sets by becoming familiar with and employing detailing requirements and CH2M CAD standards.
• Utilize their CADD and design skills, along with other firm provided resources to create detailed drawings of transportation structures which meet and exceed our clients’ expectations.

The minimum qualifications for this position are: 0-2 years of CAD experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

CAD experience with Microstation and AutoCAD

Two year technical degree.

Experience with Civil 3D or InRoads

Experience with Oregon Department of Transportation, Idaho Transportation Department, or Washington Department of Transportation projects
