The test engineer’s primary role is to create, improve, and optimize processes to validate the electrical and mechanical performance of Cascade’s probe products. This role will develop, maintain and improve test processes for production and engineering probe products. Using principles of electrical, manufacturing, and industrial engineering this position establishes stable and lean production test practices. This role will also own the probe RF performance verification process using network analyzers, verification of probe card operation using probe card analyzers, and DC I-V measurements using semiconductor analyzers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide improved yield, productivity, and cycle time.

Support of the factory floor, such as troubleshooting and disposition of rejects, determining root cause of production issues, and providing training to production personnel

Capture, analyze, and monitor process outputs using database tools such as MSSQL databases, JMP, and SPC systems.

New product characterization, design recommendations, as well as creating, documenting, and implementation of processes for new products.

Ensure that probe products meet customer requirements

Specify expense and capital purchases and executing projects on time and on budget

Collaborates closely with other members of the operations and development staff, including management, supply chain, production personnel and engineering.

Present in operational and project reviews and technical forums to peers, management, and executives. May represent the company with customers.

On-call support for manufacturing may be required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in a semiconductor, microelectronics or similar setting.

Extensive background with applied statistics, which includes the ability to create, modify, and manipulate large datasets using statistical analysis. Fluency in statistical analysis (using JMP, Statgraphics or similar), database tools (SQL, Access), and statistical process control tools is required.

Experience with testing and troubleshooting of RF and millimeter-wave systems using a network analyzer, including interpreting time-domain, frequency-domain, and S-parameter results. Experience modeling RF circuits using equivalent circuits and 2.5D simulation. Full field simulation using HFSS preferred as well as On-wafer semiconductor device characterization using RF techniques.

Experience with semiconductor inline or wafer sort test cells (including production prober, probe card, and/or automated test equipment) or probe card testing and repair is highly desired. Experience with testing, troubleshooting, and repairing probe cards using a probe card analyzer or similar equipment is desired.

Fluency with Six Sigma concepts including Gage R&R, SPC, and DOE and lean manufacturing practices is highly desired.

Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in writing and verbally.

Ability to analyze a process, determine gaps/inefficiencies/yield improvement opportunities, develop a road map to achieve this vision, and work with the larger team to drive the project to completion

Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills are required, including familiarity with IS/IS NOT, Ishikawa, and FMEA techniques.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is split between an office setting and a clean room environment that will require the wearing of protective clothing such as a bunny suit and goggles.

Standing for extended periods of time, with occasional bending, stooping, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds is required.

Requires the ability to work with hand tools.
